Default Saltwater Sportsman Key West swordfishing article

Check out the Dec. article of Saltwater Sportsman for a story on Key West swordfishing. Myself, Capt. Rob Nevius, and Capt. Greg Shurtz guided senior editor Dave Lear to his first swordfish release. Dave, who used to be executive director of the Billfish Foundation, had caught and released every other billfish prior to our trip. The conditions were poor but we managed to pull it off and Dave accomplished one of his lifetime goals. There will also be an illustration on the best way I've come up with to rig a squid with a circle hook. Give this rig a shot. You'll feel better releasing fish, unlike the last time you released that undersized gut- hooked rat. Tight lines and smooth drags to all.
