Miami Swordfish Tournament

The Miami Swordfish Tournament is fast approaching - September 7-10. The Captains Meeting is at Monty's, Miami Beach Marina on Thursday September 7 at 6:00. You can register beforehand online. Please visit the web site www.miamiswordfishtournament.com.

I am a new member to the forum - I have enjoyed reading it for years and final got the nerve up to register.

Can anyone tell me if any of the boats that killed the three fish in Islamorda were registered for the $5,000 for the biggest fish in the South Florida Swordfish series.

Thank you all for the warm welcome-Two of the three boats are in the Florida Swordfish Series - One will not be fishing the Miami tournament.

Sword Donkey what boat are you on?

Keep in mind if you all need hotel rooms in Miami we do get a reduced rate at The Radisson Miami.

We'll be fishing a 34 Intrepid Called Plan - B. We might keep the boat at Miami Beach Marina. We'll have the whole crew togeather tonight and were going to give it a practice run. I talked to Rick earlier in the week and he gave me all the details about the Calcuttas. He even said he made it out on his little boat and got one. We doubt we're going to enter the Big Fish Calcutta, for it will be hard to beat a 324lb fish.( def. possible though)

Do you know anything about discounted slips for the tourney?

Capt.T Keep in mind the 324 points only goes toward the Florida Swordfish Series. The Largest fish in the calcutta is only for Miami. If you need more explanation please feel free to call me.

From what I know Miami Beach Marina does not give a discount - There number is 305-673-6000.
