Default Big Seas Blew

The swordies are passing, the boat's full of gas, and there's squid in the freezer. The lines are all marked, the hooks sharp, weights and leaders are stowed, and the glow sticks are waiting to be cracked. I want to go alas.

The boat is too small for the November seas, when I bring friends along they begin to queeze! One half day out, in six weeks. 2 feet or less, when I can't make it with ease. Thanksgiving weekend it’s predicted to be nice, supposed to go on a Carnival Cruise so fishing’s on ice. As we close on December, it is becoming a sailfishing breeze, and for a while, the swordies move on.

Fish and fish for the three for four night; months, and months without a decent bite. The pumpkin season is here; my cooler is full of beer. Reels are re-spooled, and poles are stowed near. The seas are too big, at 14 to 18; I can’t get over my fear. I don’t want to see my boat’s name in a smear, with my wife and kids featured in a newspaper picture in tears.

So here I sit and dream for some flat, moonless, quality time with my swordies, boat, squid, lines, poles, hooks, weights, leaders, glow sticks, November seas, and a cooler full of beer, with the big seas blues.
