Default Teaser April 1 report

We went out Everglades and decided to fish "outa the box" We went to the 53 and dropped fishing between the 53 and 56 all night. It was a slow night with most of the boats goin in Early . At 11:30 ish THREE rods went off within 5 minutes of each other and from then till 5:30 am when we started back from somewhere up around Boca we were hit bam , bam , bam . We had a total of 8 hits with two fish boated and a shark . Only one fish was a keeper the other was 1/4" short and was released. We could see the other boats way out there. There's definitely swords on the 53-56 . One fish was particularly interesting , I had the hit Wound up quick thinkin he wasnt there and when i set the rod down and started handlining the leader to check the squid Bam ! I think he was there all the time and decided he'd had enough ! It's something to remember a Pissed sword rippin 300 pound mono from your hands when you dont think he's there ! It was a blast and he's gonna be Yummy ! We got home at 7 AM just in time to see the dolphin guys headin out. Randy

Nice work Randy. I'm glad someone found the fish! I'll have to try coming in a bit shallow.

Dolphin bite was good for us on the way out... Got a few in the 9lb range.

Nice night indeed. And even better since we got alot of bites and steaks to boot. Just a wee bit pissed at that damn shark that took my $5 Stainless Steel Hook though on the release.
Thanks a million Capt Randy!
