Default Darkside Forecast: April 1st -> 6th (SE FL)

50-line forecast for the Pompano Beach area.

This ain't no April Fools joke!

As of Friday, March 31st, 1:45pm:
Friday: 4-6ft @ 5 seconds with 14kt E winds. Good luck! I don't think it'll be too comfortable out there tonight.

Saturday: Getting better. 3-4ft @ 5 seconds with 12kt E winds. Winds expected to decrease slightly to 8kts as the night goes on.

Sunday: Now we're looking good! 2-3ft @ 7 seconds with 11kt E winds.

Monday: Awesome! 2-3ft @ 12 seconds with 12kt ESE winds.

Tuesday: Sweeet. 2-3ft @ 8 seconds with 10kt ESE winds.

Wednesday: 2-3ft @ 8 seconds with 13kt ESE winds.

Hopefully the swords will cooperate as much as the seas!

For those of you that don't know, I'm a NASCAR fan, and I dispise the Busch brothers. Duck Duck is trying to be funny.

Yep... Nick's right. Now I have a new reason for not liking Miller Lite. I now have to burn all my #2 gear that doesn't say Rusty Wallace. Don't want anyone thinking I'm a Busch fan.

CaptKen... Good point! I'm not too crazy about Jimmy Spencer as a driver, but as a personality he's one of my favorites! That little incident with Kurt was great! (Jimmy punched him in the face while Kurt was still in the car after a race.) I laughed my azz off when I heard about that!

Default Looks like a bathtub curve, & Friday night report 3/31

I like that Virtual weather buoy data with a 7-day outlook. We went out last night and the forecast model was right on: 4-6 on the way out. 3-5 on the way in, following sea. It seems like a cross check between this forecast model, the Fowey Light wind report, NOAA, your favorite weather girl, and a view of you favored flags gets it just about right more times than not.

The drift was fast: over 4 kts. but it did not push us westerly too fast. Golly, I guess sea anchors really make a difference.
It was a bit sporty last night but once we got to drifting everything was fine, except for those that feel the Mal de Mer. Unfortunately, nothing to report, except that there was something out there stealing our livies. But we never knew it until we checked the baits. Cést la Vie.

There are still Tinkers to be found. Not sure exactly when they will not be around any more but it seems like sometime soon.

We had the ocean pretty much to ourselves: heard Cary on the radio. I guess when you have the right attitude and a new Lattitude, anything is practical. Good job Cary, at least you got that nice fish a few nights back.

Should be like waterworld out there tonight. So everyone be careful and be sure to run those night lights.

RT were you on the NautiKat last night? I heard from them and the Screamin Demon. We had 2 bites and 2 pulled hooks.

Default Salty splashes of ocean water feels good

Cary:

Sorry, I was not on that boat that night. We weren't talkative on the Radio. Such a fun night: no time to chat on the radio. We had something whack a bait on a reset, not even sure if you would call it a bite, but there was something down there.

We looked around and did not even notice a boat anywhere nearby. Your ocean that night. So I would guess y'all were a bit south of us. We were on the good ship: Mini-Skirt.

Capt. Ed - Oi, tudo Bom. Have you been fishing lately? It's been awfully quiet around here without your reports. I still keep thinking of that Mako jumping onto your boat. Last time for Mako, Capt. Ken had to do it the old fashioned way.

Hey Hannaman that was me on the NautiCat on Friday. I ended up with a 30 pound pup and a small silky shark for my 3 drifts that night. By the way, I was barely getting you on the radio that night and I can usually hear people as far north as Boca/Boyton if I'm off Haulover.
