Default Swordfish caught in Sea of Cortez near Cabo San Lucas

On vaca last week, I caught a just over 10' long swordfish around 12 noon - took almost 2 hours to land the fish. Cannot confirm weight - we did not have it weighed, but crew thought it might be at 150 lbs - I think it was more. I am sure of the length - we were able to measure fish against beam of boat. My research on the internet tells me that this might have been a big one. Any experts out there with any insights.

I'll tell you this - it was one helluva ride!!

Congrats, did you bait it on the surface? Did the 10ft measurement include the bill?

Default Swordfish caught in Sea of Cortez near Cabo San Lucas

We trolled using 4 lures, when fish was spotted, cast another line near the fish with live bait. Fish hit almost immediately.

10 ft + Length includes bill

10ft overall is approx. 85" LJFL. I think that's nearing 300lbs?

Good work Mike.

Post a picture in the photo galleries on this site and I'll help link it to this forum.

The bill could of easily been 3 feet, so if it was 7 feet in LJFL... Uncle Buck has it right... somewhere inthe 85 inch and 300 pound range.

I'd call it 160 or so, maybe a lil more.
