I love Costa and all, but why leave one of the best places in the world to catch swordies to try to catch them where their not around in the numbers we have here?
If you want to catch bigger and more Swordies, go some place like Three Kings NZ. or even Venezuela. (Chaves can suck my purple Katana)
Now I understand if it's the Blue Marlin or Beatle Bar you are more interested in. \/
In that case you need to ditch the anchor anyway, she just can't compete with the Ticas.

NF you cant beat divas or hollywoods :roflmao: but the beatle bar is great.i have a bunch of friends that live there so its easy and cheap,Ihave done a couple marlin trips and about 15or 20 others everything from peacock bass to spear fishing yellowfin so something different is going to be cool but NZ is a little pricey and venezuela ill end up in jail or with a wife and neither sound fun  but i dont even know how good swording is there.I know i see swork steaks in the store from CR so i guess that they are there.I know off of Manuel antonio park is a huge drop 2 miles off coast it drops straight down. we landed a huge marlin there and from what i rember is bottom struct was sick.but i had no idea about swordies then.but even if no swords its still fun.So what iam doing is dtbaf =ditch the bi ch and fish

I'm going again in July. I love that place.
I would imagine a swordfish night trip w/Ticas onboard would be epic.

OT but check this out.
Doing a Moto X trip this time.

That Spearfishing YF tuna sounds like my kind of fun though. Could you give me some info on that?
I tried for YF last time I was there but only got 2 under 30 Lbs.
We did get 14 Wahoo though. irat:

NF the moto looks sick i like the idea of leaving san jose and riding to jaco.we used to be able to rent endros in jaco with no guide.that was great but got lost one time for 24 hrs with no gas or water so the guide is a good idea but there is some great riding at the south end of jaco.
If you watched the xxx fishing video on this site.Just think what it would be like filmed in costa  I do have video.
As for the yt Igo to a fishing village norh of tamarindo and hire one the com guys THEY WILL PUT YOU ON FISH just tell them what you want to catch. You said that july is wen you are going yt start there run around then but i have caught them all year. For spearfishing i just got a feeding frenzy going on and jumped in never got the huge one but some nice ones. And in shore dog tooth snapper that scare me are everywere. So for spearfishing i would bring2 things # 1 a catch bag that you can float to the top and a BIG SET OF BALLS the tigersharks are nasty Ill look up some capt. that rock
