Sorry, I couldn't type too much before cause I was in class. In your post, hit the image button, copy the url of the picture (including the .jpg), then hit the image button again. Should look like this

As per the bathroom scale you see in the picture it was 152#'s, but i dont know nhow accurate that is. It took over three hours to bring it in.

3hrs? what size tackle were you using? How much drag? But the big question is did you let the fish lead you with the current or did you try to turn it to the south to make it have to swim against the current? If you let them they will always swim to the path of least Resistance which is with the current to the north. If you can turn them into the current a 3hr fight can turn in to a 30min fight.

Quack Quack:

You're a funny guy. We've got to get out fishing some time.

I would like you to demonstrate "turning a fish to the South so that he is fighting the current".

Then I will demonstrate the same thing by turning a fish to the North, or the East or the West and he will still be fighting the current.

But you do have one good point about picking the South as a preferred direction: perhaps a few more of the seven sisters may be hanging around the same area where you first hooked up. And you would be heading back that way.

After seeing those Professional Sailfishing Anglers at the Mayors Cup, I am just wondering if it is not just a good idea to run the swordfish down, stick it with the harpoon and be done with it.

I wish swords would stay on the surface so we could run them down and stick them or not  I f you can call any of the pros you fished with and ask them the best way to fight a sword with the boat. They would tell you the same thing that I said about turning them south. As soon as your chasing them to the north they are resting in the current while the angler is not. Try to turn them east or west then to the south. Which way does the stream flow? Last I checked south to north so a fish swimming south would have to swim as fast as the current to maintain the same position. A fish swimming north could stop swimming and still be moving as fast as the current. So if you try to pull a fish to the south it was to swim against the current and has to use more energy to fight against you. More energy spent faster = shorter fight time. or is this fuzzy math

NICE FISH!! 160 looks about right, he looks to me about 66-67''? At least you got him in no matter how long!

As to the length of time quack quack is on the ball, if you wanna get him in fast turn him, if not then let the battle begin! Also we're you fishing the "standard" 12-14lbs of drag? that could be why as well! Great job and again nice fish!
