I will try my first time Swording this week! Do you pull the Hydroglow light in when a fish is on?? I have the stuff without the knowhow! How much is the pre-rigged squid? Thanks!

depends....i have always left the hydraglow in the water even when the fish gets up to the boat, helps me see whats going on in the water without the glare of a white light. Also helps you see if the fish is right under the boat etc. however, if he gets wild and you are going to take the fish, bring the light in so he doesnt get wrapped up in it while our trying to gaff it etc.
contact JahMussa on the forum or go to www.reelproshop.com to get his contact information, guys name is Tek and hes located in Ft Lauderdale, sells rigged squid done the RIGHT way for like 12/per i thin?...marinas sell rigged squid for like 16 bucks a piece and they are crap good luck |

Whether you choose to bring up the light or not... for pete's sake, disconnect it FIRST! Otherwise you'll be seeing green streaks for the next few minutes! hahaha

Leave it in the water. Just make sure it is short enough so it does not get wrapped in the props.

I'm more worried about losing a fish than the hydroglow. I would hate to lose a fish because I was to cheap and worried about damaging the hydroglow. Find what works for you, and use that method.

If I have to move the boat I bring in the light if not I leave it in. On a nice fish with the boat moving the light is shinning up in my eyes if the fish is on that side. I dont want the green streak UB talked about when I am aiming the gaff or poon. With a nice fish I would worry about losing the fish more with the light in the water. You never know what could happen with the fish boat side. :???:

I play it by ear, if it seems at all possible to get in the way i pull it in, but if the fish swims the oppisite direction i like having it there just like Nightfighter said to get a better dart shot or a better bill shot. Also if you are using a hydraglow and not a swordlight, and you don't weight it down i would probably pull it in just incase it does bob out of the water you don't go blind.
