The Duralumes can be used on a deep rod to over 400 feet and you can get them at a good price - Check with Tek he has at good prices. The cyalumes are limited to couple hundred feet or so at most.

How many are you looking for? I sell the LP Duralumes with the line clip and they don't leak. Green Blue or Pink available.

Industrial grade sticks are not made to go to deep. With that said, if you are not fishing deep or using them on the the jugs/balloons... they will be fine if the price is right.

700 feet on the 6" and 500 feet on the 4" with line clips.
edit: had to change the depths, I just got the specs and they were a little off from what I was originally told.

QQ... trouble maker

Marcus introduced me to the powdered sticks and I was impressed with them ... at first. After testing them we found that they were extremely bright after shaking them. But as they sit, the powder settles to the bottom and they go dim. They will stay dim for a LOOOOONNNNNGGG time.. 12+ hours in fact. If you shake them aggressively, they brighten back up. So the thinking was that since we are bobbing along on the 50 line, this movement would be enough to "disperse" the powder to a suspened state. We found out that it wasn't and decided to go back to the tried ,tested and proven liquid LP sticks.

We even did this test... on a very windy night 25+ mph, we put powder sticks inside some balloons, blew them up and put them in my pool. As the wind pushed the balloons around the pool, hitting the sides, rolling around, etc. the powder sticks still went dim in a short time. We figured this balloon was moving around much more violently than any stick attached to your sword gear and would perform in the same manner as our test cases.

So... what does this mean.... I really don't know Maybe it's a good thing to have a stick that is extremely bright (much brighter than and LP stick) that fades to a very very low dim in about 10/15 minutes. Plenty of Swords have been caught with no light at all. So I'm just trying to provide facts and we never sent them really deep to see when they would implode. Marcus is a good guy and has good prices so nothing against Marcus. I'm guessing that lots of guys are using these sticks and having success so try them for yourself. Just because they are act differently than liquid sticks doesn't mean they are bad to use.

As to Polar's sticks... if they don't leak at those depths...then they are good in my book.

Thanks for the heads up on those glowsticks. I heard they were pretty good, but I haven't tested them myself.

ST... Dont' take what I said as a negative. They still catch fish... they just act a bit different than what we are used to.

I can't find the numbers but we put these light sticks on a meter and boy were they bright. The LP sticks topped out in the low 90's and the powder sticks topped out around the 140's I think. Both quickly dropped down after the inital burst. I may be off a little but I think those were the numbers. After 6 hours the LP's were still going but didn't compare to the powder sticks (once you shook them up again).

I think too that the Powder sticks are not UV sensitive. The LP sticks must be keep in a dark place as UV light and even Floresent light will kill the life span of them. So there's + and - to all these lights.

Hey if you say these are crap, I'll take your word for it. I prefer to use LP electralumes on my baits and use the glowsticks on the balloons. Occasionally i will put a glowstick on the shallowbaits.

Thanks

There is nothing wrong with these glowsticks, I have bought them and foudn them to be better than most. If you are using them for balloons, you can grab the dual model which can be cracked twice, so if you reel them in for aanother drift, give them another crack.
