Default Swordfish head boat?

Just an idea It seems that on any given night [with the weather] that there is always some people [my self included now that I sold the boat] looking for a ride for sword fishing. Most times it is people that do not know each other and asking other people they do not know for a ride they will help with gas bait beer etc. Maybe one of the six pack boats should start doing sword trips at night? 3 anglers $200.00 a pop.Angler brings own bait and equipment or can rent equipment from the boat. I think one of those boats should give it a try. 1 or 2 hr before sundown to midnight or so. If the weather is a bit much for a guy with a small boat they could use this boat if they really want to go. $200 twice a month is alot cheaper than boat payment, storage ,insurance ,gas, etc. This is just a idea and should be treated as such. Has any one tried this already? What do you guys think about this? Would any one be interested?

Default Party Barge

QQ,
I've been working on a buddy of mine who ownes a marine construction biz. to tow his barge out to the 50 line and cut it loose with a bunch of us aboard.
I'm talking BBQ pits, DJ, generators, bar, strippers, Astro turf, lawn chairs.
Strippers was his idea :^o
Oh yea, and everyone bring their own swording gear.
Could you imagine what a party that would be. \/

Six pack boat? What's that? $200 per person sounds a bit pricey, considering my usual gas/supply donation is in the $50 range per trip.

Six pack is a boat that is licensed for six people. Those down east style boats that take people out reef fishing for half a day. $200 is a little high but cheaper than a reg charter and you only have to bring your self not 4 friends to split a charter with you. If you could charge 100 it would be better buy I was thinking about the 3 fish limit. I f 6 guys pay 100 and only three can keep fish that wouldn't be fair. But if you got 6 friends that paid the boat the same 600 that could work to. It would make a great bachelor party 5 guys 1 \/ ER no one around could be fun

If you got 3 keepers, there would be more than enough fish to go around!!

I dont think the charter guys would like this boat to much!! but who knows

I don't think it would cut into the charter guys biz much. If the guys on board agree to split fish it would be great. Like I said it's just an idea but I think it could work for someone. I am sure that some [alot] of people that lurk would love to have a chance to go swording and not feel any pressure to look like a pro when they are new to it all.

I would abolutely jump on board for $150 to $200. I think that is fair if 4 people or so go.

But they'd need a pro on-board to school 'em! I consider myself fortunate to be learning from sworders that are as close to pro as I could hope. Could you imagine a boat-load of inexperienced folks all trying to get theirs? Yikes! I'd give up the sport after a few hours of tangles and lost fish.

A good capt and mate could run things smoothly. Now a double header that could get exciting  I think 150 to 200 for a  chance to catch a sword would be a deal for most people. Just a few yrs ago you could expect the trip to cost thousands in air fare to get to location that you could catch a sword on rod and reel.

i would pay $200. here in nsb a full day charter starts at $1000 and goes up from there. the charter bussiness is a joke here. they pay $1000 to go 15-25 miles offshore and catch kingfish and aj's all day. if the season is right we will get a few sailfish, and dolphin.

if i owned a boat and knew where to catch swords here i would think of starting a charter because i dont know of any sword charters here.

oh yea and our charter fleet here tops out at a whopping 15-18 knots!!!!!!

Default K-2 did it in marathon

A seasonal boat out of St Aug I believe called the K-2 did it out of
Cabots Restaurant in Marathon for a few years. Do Not know if they are
back this yr but they did have some success. Limited to 8 guys I think.
I'm not sure how they would have boarded a slob tho. The marina has new
owners( Condo conversion-what else) so they might not be back

Default Sword Head Boat

hey Quack, I think you got a great idea....I hope someone with a adequate boat is watching this thread.....$200.00 for a shot at a Sword is a hell of a deal......When I'm fortunate enough to have someone take me out I always pop for all the bait, food, fuel, etc. as these regulars are almost divorced and pockets dented over all this Swording... As far as the Strippers are concerned...it sounds good...however I'd hate to think what would happen to one of them given the need for a boat anchor....They would make the ride out and the ride back more interesting.......I just wouldn't want to listen to them crying about going back to the dock all night long....might have to use the boat anchor again...my .02
