Default Was there an intermission?

So what happened Dude,

The fish fought all day and went into darkness, fighting on those rod(s),

then the movie ended....?

Did I miss something?

That guy on the rod reminded me of a friend of mine. But at least the movie guy fought the fish for a good while..... watch the movie if you want to know for how long.

I need to learn some of those tricks too. Way cool. That is something I have always considered, but after seeing this, not nearly prepared.

Spooled. Well.... not exactly, yet. Yee Haaaw.

I know there was a fish caught like that during the Kick Off. Was that the same fish?

nope, not the same fish...

The fish durring the kickoff was caught on the L&H with Neil and Jimmy... They actually got the leader on the fish for a clean release.

That fish in the video was fought on the Scatterbrain with Sef and Junior..

Eiether way, a hell of a daytime bite!!!!

ahhh thanks for clearing that up...

I was wondering why they wouldn't of broke the fish off to try to get more sail releases if that was a sail tournament...

The IGFA record is out the door when the first rod is dumped in the water...

Default Fishermen.

The more things change, the more they remain the same. The video reminded me very much of my experiences in Florida. When a fish that powerful was hooked and the decision to catch it was made, we just pulled out all the stops and did whatever it took to land it. I am assuming the captain was thinking about sliding a large treble hook down the line to snag the Swordfish and put an end to the fight. That fish opened a can of whupass on those guys. After thinking about it while watching football; it kinda surprises me that the skipper didn`t turn the boat and chase that fish a little faster. Backing down works good once you get `em slowed down, but when they take off like that Sword did it is much better to follow the line in forward. 15 knts. beats 5-7 anytime.
