Default Survey Says .....

Wackme:

You've got started a good post here. Unfortunately, since you described Shimano-Tiagra as a single selection in the Poll, it may not be too late to revise your polling question to include Shimano -TLDs as an independent selection. It would be nice to see how much market share they have compared with the Aluminum frame jobbers.

Understandably, this is not a very accurate POLL since it does not take into consideration everyone's variation and quantity of equipment. Nonetheless it can indicade a general inclination. So far, an interesting survey, with only about 45 votes placed. As would be reasonably expected the Shimano-Tiagra is holding the lead with 46% of the round-up. Penn is showing 34%, sounds reasonable but seems a little high with all of the other slices of pie to choose from. I am kind-of surprised that AVET is only showing an 8% position. But then again, the survey probably needs at least a 100 or so participants to begin to show a better approximation. I am surprised nobody is chiming in for the accurate: a mighty fine reel but I suppose out of the price range for most of the anglers actively posting on this forum.

Albar, you' re the man! After seeing some of the other people's arsenal, I think I like your tackle setup the best. Sounds like you would be an upstanding member of the Formidable 50 Squad.

I've got my 4 pack: Penn Intl. 50 wides. Not that I would not mind having Tiagras: just that I started my collection 14 years ago and Penns had just a little more prestige than by today's standard.

And those guys are packing spectra line. One day all loaded with Jerry Brown 130 lb. Hollow core with a terminal spliced loop. A convenient loop-to-loop connection point for any flavor of wind-on or top-shot. Not to say that there is anything wrong with nylon monofilament either. It's just a preference kind-of thing.

thanks alot everyone for the responses. i have only two sword reels right now and one as probabily what most of u would consider small(aluctecnos 30w)but has caught a few swords and also two marlin including the 100incher caught last friday night.. and my other reel is a shimano tiagra 50wLRS. this will help me alot on purchsing my new reels.ive been considering getting 3 more 50 tiagras and two 80w tiagras.which is probabily what ill get. im sorry for not mentioning the tld but for a while i didnt even know that they made a 50 . also the everol.
