Default Full Moon Adventures and the Reel Tension donate a charter

Victor and myself like to give back to the tournaments we compete in one way or another. So i asked Victor if he would split the expenses for a swordfish charter to donate to the Florida Sportsman Forum P.I.Bash. The tournament is mostly for fun and raises money for kids to go fishing for a day. Well if you don't already know that by doing a good deed it usually comes back to you ten fold and tonight was the night. We picked up the guys at 6:00 sharp and headed for our #'s.

It was close to 7:30 and we had our spread out waiting for the bite. It was a awesome night with the seas 2ft or less and a lite SE breeze. The drift was going in for us and out for the rest of the fleet from the people i talked to on the radio. Hoping that something was going to happen with the first timers that donate money for the charter was short lived. 9:00 and nothing as of yet until the middle jug just disappears, gone, vanished so we reel that bait to the boat and find a little tangle with the gog still their. With the new jug on we start to let that one back into the spread and no sooner did we stop the bait the far jug starts the tick tick tick tick tick tick. I told Vic thats the one start reeling, sure enough Vic comes tight after 50 yards or so and were tight. Charter harnessed in and the battle starts with 20lbs of drag for the first 20 mins, once we got the spread cleared we gave chase. 25 mins in and the fish comes up and jumps down the length of the boat and she close to 200lbs. Charters sweating and he's on his knees so what to do but push up the drag and get him back on his feet so to speak. 40 mins in and the fish is running around on the surface but not for long. With some great boat handling and a quick shot with the poon we closed the deal. Fish was a great first fish for our angler with the fork length measureing 68" and weighing in at 186lbs. Will post pics as soon as get the pics e-mailed tommorrow. June 26 is the first leg of "Dark Side of the Moon" more info at www.FullMoonAdventuresinc.com

Nice fish and great report. . . There's been an awful lot of bigger fish caught over the past week or so. . . Saturday we got a 67 1/2", there was a 300+ lb fish caught. Sunday Joe gets a 250 lb fish . . . Hopefully this keeps up through the end of the month.
