Default The only boat in the water

We headed out Saturday night in what seemed to be tolerable seas. As night approached there were no boats to be seen anywhere. The conditions were 2-4 and very choppy and the weather man said the wind would be laying down. The seas had laid down from the morning fishing trip we were on. So we fished and the wind started honkin as soon as the sun went down. The chop was very unstable as it seemed like a washing machine out there.
We ended up with 1 Swordfish as we saw the jug in the middle of the spread had moved way south of the others. We got tight and reeled in our fish in less than 5 minutes on 20 pounds or so of drag. As we reeled in the rest of the spread to go home the deep squid was ripped off the hook, I guess we missed that one.
I guess we can't always fish the fair weather, but I'm sure looking foward to it.

Good job Hannaman. We know what it's like to be out there but yourself. Not too pleasant, especially in bad weather. The only thing worse is the other end of the spectrum when it's a parking lot out there. We plan to give it a go Friday and/or Saturday.

it will be real close, i am getting back in town on the 24th. but for me in town is st. marys, ga. if i can, i will grab chris, who goes to school in tallahassee now, and we will fly down, fish the tournament, and fly back up. I want to fish it more than you know. if i can't fish that one i will try to hit leg 2. i got to get out there drew. i was down, in march, fished 2 nights, went 4-6 w/ a 250lber. i wonder if it is still hot out there. Is there a deadline for signing up for the tourney?
