I did not see the now infamous picture but do not understand the mystery surrounding it. I'm in total agreement with what Mark posted and I quote him:
"I'm with TT on this one. And furthermore, to say RJ does not share his knowledge is a gross injustice to what he has given back to the fishing community. Most of us wouldn't have a clue about daytiming if it wasn't for him sharing his expertise at numerous seminars and meetings. On top of that, if you look at almost every tournament brochure around here, he is a sponsor." Swordstalker/Nauti Girl RJ earns his living by catching swordfish and selling gear in his shop. Since no laws were broken why the haste in zapping the picture? We do have a category to post under called "Swordfish Reports" so if the moderators could explain and not leave us guessing it might be a better approach. With no explanation you are going to get every speculation imaginable which can be even worse. Remember that whatever the number of fish landed I'm certain all were called in as required by law. From everything I have read the recreationals, as well as any commercials in our area, are being urged to call in every single fish as we are not filling our quota and could lose some of it to a foreign country. Nothing is supposed to stay secret unless people choose to not say anything. Sorry Eric/Mike - I don't really understand this one as seems to be the case with others as well. Not trying to start a s---storm just want to understand the stance that the forum is taking on something like this. Information about catches helps all of us when we fish and I always thought that was what the forum was about. There have been other pictures of large catches of fish that were not removed - way invoke the zap on RJ one of the best, and most willing to share, guys around? Harry |

It is alleged that those 5+ fish were caught while fishing with a charter client and then sold, which is illegal, and could be the reason that the post was removed. I don't have any first hand knowledge of the situation, just passing along the story as it was told to me.

Just to set the record straight so all the people talking BS about how it was a charter. This was not a charter. A friend that was in town helping out with my tournament went fishing with Bobby, NOT A CHARTER. Bobby fishes and sells tackle for a living and nothing illegal was done except a good day of fishing. Hopefully we can all have a day of fishing like that someday. Tight lines

Darkside,
With you setting the record straight there should be no further speculation about what the situation was. Better the air is cleared than people "think" the reason the picture was pulled was because something was done that doesn't conform to the rules. Especially with RJ being involved. I'd love to be good enough to have a day like that!!Thanks, Harry |

Why? Ya already know what a swordfish looks like!
5 swords side-by-side on the deck. Est. 70-200lbs. Nothing spectacular, except that they were all caught in the daytime on a single trip... which is a worthy accomplishment.

![]() Somebody else post another picture for no reason that will stir the pot! My question is why this happened in the first place. Like Marauder1 said, if John or RJ wanted the picture posted than he would have.

Nice shot on that Minke!!! To bad the poon did not go through the Sea Shepards Delta raft first. Now that would have been a good shot.
