Thumbs up Thanks Swordfish Club

Had a great time talking to all that attended the meeting this was the first time talking to a good size crowd and with a camera running

I hope I did OK and this is a sign of things to come

Four more months of prime time trolling for Swordfish in South Florida so I hope more of you give it a try

This is the first sword we caught trolling with Dan... and let me tell you... a 30lb wahoo at full speed ain't got NOTHIN'!!! on a mere 51" swordfish! It's the epitome of the term "freight-train".

FYI... That's a Bahama Lure "Saturn" lure, tipped with a natural squid.

Default great pics Buck...

Also I would like to thank Skip for all he does.. he has been so active in fishing his whole life and been a true sportsman, gentlemen and will talk to you straight about anything he can or could help you with. sorta like a Lorax for the trees .. my hats off to cats like this and without him the rip would be different. What you learn from him and the time he puts in is priceless..

Hey Dan, let's go Tile fishing. I promise not to look at the #'s (squint squint) You looked like a cool cat up there, nice job.
That was the 1st time I've gone to a sword meeting, had a great time and learned some new stuff.
The guy from reel adventures is livin the life, nice to be him. I saw a bunch of people that I've heard of within the Circles but did not get the opportunity to introduce myself.
I also learned that it is pointless to buy raffle tickets if Frank is there!!
Thanks again for having me Skip and everyone else that was there.

Darren

Buck, awesome colors in those photo's you posted.
Rumor has it that TJ might be selling that fishin machine he's got for Swording. I think it's called a UB 187 but not quite sure of the price. Buck, how much does it go for?

You did a great job Dan I'm psyched to try trolling again. You forgot to tell about the 4 bites we had the one time I tried it with you and the one that got away due to a poor crimp.

Dan, you were awesome!

We could have gone on for another hour or two with all the info you and Stewart shared.

I was really impressed that you showed everything you learned, without any hesitation.

Thanks for sharing and now we will have to have a semianr in navigation, as boats will be trolling in evry direction. Combine them with the buoys and the ships, it will look like I-95 during rush hour.

Thanks to everone that supports the club!

A big thank you to Dan for the promotional effort and UB for posting the photos, and Purple Fever for the sword trolling trip he mentioned above.

Here is the lure, I have it retired on my wall now and I had to build Dan a new one to get him to part with it. It is covered in sword scrapes-

I didn't know that there was a prime time to catch swords on the troll... why is that?

From my experience winter and spring are the best times of the year to troll for them, I have had a few on in the summer but never closed the deal.

Not really sure why but I think it has something to do with what food source is around.

You missed the meeting because you've been obsessed with posting on the other. Some funny stuff though, especially the "queerman" photo!

Ah Uncle Buck, but a wahoo of the same weight as that Swordie is quite the challenge! I love both and have not attempted the purple monster on the troll yet. I will say that we get multiple chances at hoos on the troll in a single trip and I cant imagine what it would be like to have a double or triple sword bite at the same time as we get hoos stirred up some times!
