Default daytime vs night

I have a question for all you accomplished daytimers. How does the daytime thing stack up against night in terms of numbers (I know the size is generally bigger during the day). I ask because my wife is pregnant, and has become totally irrational about my night fishing. I think last night may very well be my last night trip for about six months. I'm used to catching, or at least hooking fish 40% of my night trips, and this is enough to keep me going every chance I get. Would you say this is a reasonable percentage for action on the day drops? Let me put that another way. For those of you who do day and night trips, do you find the action to be better, the same, or worse during the day?

You should get just as much action during the day as you get at night. Now there are a lot of things that come in to play here though. You can't go out one or two times and compare it with all your night trips. Obviously sometimes you are going to do better then others and weather and the moon have a lot to do with it also. Sometimes different spots are better during the day and some are better during the night but for the most part I have found that I usually do just as good during the day as I do at night.

Here's the big difference: During the daytime, it's light. During the night, it's dark. Write that down.

I definitely agree with that. Although I still go out at night, my wife hates it. I can go during the day whenever I want and sometimes she even comes and has ocassionally outfished me. She won't go out at night though so I guess that is why she doesn't want me to go out at night.
