Greetings , Im new to the group. I and some friends have been swordfishing (6 times now) from Pt. Everglades (boat TEASER) and are at 6 fish the largest 170#. We're kinda new at this and I was wondering if anyone has any info on which light to use. We have a "Hydroglow" and a smaller 18" light and was wondering does anyone change to smaller lights on full moon and larger on no moon etc.?
I've been reading up on moon effects and was wondering if anyone has tried this ? We're now devoted to the sport and are going out 5 pm till 5 am when this weather permits . We seem to get hit more often on full moon nights compared to no moon and from 8-11 then 1-3am seem to be the hot times. Any suggestions ?

Hey Randy, I'm in Plantation also. On the brighter nights I don't use a hydraglow, but would consider it more so on the darker nights closer to the new moon.

I use my hydro glow all the time. It draws bait to the boat which in my opinion is the start of the food chain. Hopefully this chain ends with a sword in the box. I have just stated sword fishing myself and we have caught 16 in the past 3 months. We have caught fish in all stages of the moon but my favourite time is the backside of the full moon.
