1 for 2 on swords with a solid 160lber at 10:30.
11:00 reset on the numbers when gunnel bait gets hammered almost dumping BIG 130 tiagra, 25 minutes later 262lb Mako in the boat. Was a nice night for the super bowl and a little swordfishing as well. Going again tonight. 8) Pictures soon to be posted once friend brings his digital over and can download them. |

Awesome! I'm thinking about checking out the 50 tonight or tomorrow.
Good Fishing! Mike

Thanks Joe and Mike it has been a long time coming for a night like Sundays. The bite was kinda of slow last night but we got lucky and stopped on top of one. Had only three bites all night and the fish we caught was on the first bait in the water. 60" fork length and a nice fish with a little pink tint to the meat. Good luck tonight i'm staying home for a change.

Nicely done Drew,
It's funny because you and I were talking about Mako fishing the other day over at Bobby's, Congradulations! I heard it was slow last night out there. Had to cancel my trip for tonight, my pop is sick. Tight Lines, SwordSlasher |

Fishing first, then the translation part. Good job on landing that Swordfish 160 lb. and then the Mako fish(shark). I was not clear if you actually landed the Swordie (1 for 2) but it sounds like you enjoyed all of it. I was curious to know: did you have metalic leader to bring in that Mako? I have always dreamed of catching that wildly motivated aggressor. But with ambitions on swordfish, I am using duro-mono only (250 lb). Is there something I can learn here? I have had a Mako sandwich or so at Flanigan's bros. , B&G, and then dreamed of landing one myself. All those photos of nice fish inspire one to dream of a day (job/life) where this is you. oh, oh, translation!
Well if you were watching the game at the 50, then you may been slightly distracted for a minute. Apparently Janet Jackson's moves and shakes were quite the stir for the half time show, after the fact. Were you still at the 50? Well any way, the Latin subject title translates that her "tit moves so fine". Not that you needed any help for translation but the story line adds flavor to the shark fin soup. |

Yes we did cacth the swordie and then the Mako. I was not using any special leader to catch the mako. The mako was hooked in his gill plate from the inside of his mouth coming out to the gills, the line was rapped around his bottom jaw once but didn't snap the line thank god. Have had a few encounters with makos while swording but this was the first one that i boated. I just got the pics on sat but am not sure how to post them so anyone willing to explain the process to me i would be very grateful thanks.
