THANKS UB!!

I am in a wait and see mode. On Saturday nights, I am willing to go when it's a little rougher. I go on week nights too, but they kill me the next day as I doze off at the office.

I want to head out off Fowey Sat. night at 6:30 p.m. I want to try Disco's rum dipped baits.

DL dips his baits in rum too? For a time, my Captain Morgan "Tattoo" marinated squids worked well. But that habit got expensive quick.

That's why I am going to go out in a little slop Sat. night. The rum will equalize the wave action.

Dang I wanted to go today, but Mr. wind did not lay down. Will be out tomorrow night on the south drift on my boat with Team Bayou (nothing to do with Louisiana ) along with a chitload of others I am sure.

Tight lines!

Wind took a while to lay down Sunday, but finally did. It was beautiful after 7 p.m. We got out to the sword grounds off Key Biscayne before 8 p.m. Found lots of bait at Bug (pilchards, hoos and hard tails) on the way out and loaded up. However, not a single hit. We drifted four rods until 11:15 p.m. and called it a night. We moved twice. I worked squid and some frisky live blue runners and nada. Oh well. Heard one boat out on the south drift mention he caught one sword on a live bait that majorly tangled his whole spread.

It wasn't good. Left the dock sun afternoon about 2pm with a forecast (bouy weather) that called for smooth seas for 30 hours. Got on the #'s about 3:30 and made 4 or 5 drops without a nibble. Just before sunset we moved east another 10 miles to set up an all night drift that would find us north and a bit west of Mantanilla in the AM. Trouble was the wind never died and we had 15 knots out of the East all night. Made another move east at 1am but got blown right back. Daylight found us 38 miles ne of Jupiter and about 25 miles west of the corner. It was blowing 15+ and a crummy tight wind chop of 3-5' out of the west. We never had a sword bite and going further east was out of the question so we slogged into it for 3 hours to get into Jupiter. I think I'm done swordfishing for awhile

Well... that's still better than the 6-hour beating we took getting over to West End last month.
