May as well be bullish and make some money off these companies that are showing record profits to offset the high gas prices. I got some Nat. Gas companies and bought oil as well awhile back, I can't wait to see it at 200 to be honest.

$200.00 ?????? ...Be careful what you hope for! You might make some $$$$$$ but..............? Expect massive layoffs in almost every sector in the economy. Not to sound bearish but a lot of people are going to suffer serious consequences. I say, DRILL!!!!!!! While you get something else going, but the greenies won't let it happen....Too bad..... ....Thinking bout running my boat on a single engine mode........ We'll see......

The prices are killing me. It's affecting everything, not just fuel, it's our whole economy. I'm pissed.
We have plenty of spare nukes just sitting around. Strategically place a few in one or two OPEC nations and it will stop the gouging.
Nation building my ass, we need to spank them back onto camels.

Sorry just venting. Best thing to do is buy as much oil Co. stock as we can so at least we can make money from them screwing us. Soon they will have screwed them selves to a point that alternative fuel are cheaper and we wont need their oil. The economy will then level out. It will be a tuff ride until then.

I’m designing a sail/motor sportfish hybrid. Hoping not to become a blow-boat dickhead that steals all the TP and water from every marina I can.

hey check this post out on the other forum
InterMedia Outdoors Forums: Gas saving chain letter. Passing it on.

Some sound a little far fetched but here it is.

"TIPS ON PUMPING GAS (forwarded by Frida B.)

I don't know what you guys are paying for gasoline....
but here in California we are also paying higher, up
to $3.50 per gallon. But my line of work is in
petroleum for about 31 years now, so here are some
tricks to get more of your money's worth for every gallon..

Here at the Kinder Morgan Pipeline where I work in San Jose, CA we deliver about 4 million gallons in a 24-hour period thru the pipeline. One day is diesel the next day is jet fuel, and gasoline, regular and premium grades. We have 34-storage tanks here with a total capacity of 16,800,000 gallons.

Only buy or fill up your car or truck in the early morning when the ground temperature is still cold. Remember that all service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground the more dense the gasoline, when it gets warmer gasoline expands, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening....your gallon is not exactly a gallon. In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature of the gasoline, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products plays an important role.

A 1-degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business. But the service stations do not have temperature compensation at the pumps.

When you're filling up do not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to a fast mode. If you look you will see that the trigger has three (3)stages: low, middle, and high. In slow mode you should be pumping on low speed, thereby minimizing the vapors that are created while you are pumping.

All hoses at the pump have a vapor return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some other liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapor. Those vapors are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank
so you're getting less worth for your money.

One of the most important tips is to fill up when your gas tank is HALF FULL or HALF EMPTY. The reason for this is, the more gas you have in your tank the less air occupying its empty space. Gasoline evaporates faster than you can imagine. Gasoline storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the gas and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation. Unlike service stations, here where I work, every truck that we load is temperature compensated so that every gallon is actually the exact amount.

Another reminder, if there is a gasoline truck pumping into the storage tanks when you stop to buy gas, DO NOT fill up--most likely the gasoline is being stirred up as the gas is being delivered, and you might pick up some of the dirt that normally settles on the bottom. Hope this will help you get the most value for your money.

DO SHARE THESE TIPS WITH OTHERS!

WHERE TO BUY USA GAS, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW.

READ ON

Gas rationing in the 80's worked even though we grumbled about it. It might even be good for us! The Saudis are boycotting American goods. We should return the favor.

An interesting thought is to boycott their GAS.

Every time you fill up the car, you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of Saudi Arabia. Just buy from gas companies that don't import their oil from the Saudis.

Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill-up the tank, I am sending my money to people who are trying to kill me, my family, and my friends.

I thought it might be interesting for you to know which oil companies are the best to buy gas from and which major companies import Middle Eastern oil.

These companies import Middle Eastern oil:
Shell....... . .......... . 205,742,000 barrels
Chevron/Texaco. .144, 332,000 barrels
Exxon /Mobil...... .......... 130,082,000 barrels
Marathon/Speedway. .117,740, 000 barrels
Amoco....... . .........62, 231,000 barrels

Citgo gas is from South America, from a Dictator who hates Americans. If you do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount to over $18 BILLION! (oil is now $90 - $100 a barrel)

Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil: Sunoco...... . ..0 barrels
Conoco...... . ..0 barrels
Sinclair.... . ....0 barrels
BP/Phillips. . ..0 barrels
Hess........ . ...0 barrels
ARC0........ . .0 barrels

If you go to Sunoco.com, you will get a list of the station locations near you.

All of this information is available from the Department of Energy and each is required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing.

But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of gas buyers. It's really simple to do.

Now, don't wimp out at this point....... ...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I'm sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 =300)...and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers !!!!!!! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted!

If it goes one level further, you guessed it .....
THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!

Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. How long would all that take?"

I would lay the blame on the environmentalist movement, corrupt obstuctionist judges and greedy lawmakers(local and national). These BASTARDS have blocked EVERY attempt to get a permit for all new gas refineries. The company I work for has over 100 oil well permits that these BASTARDS are trying to stop us from using. These BASTARDS are trying to buy back the permits!!! These BASTARDS will stop at nothing to see that no new oil is produced! These are the same BASTARDS that are blocking the drilling in Alaska. These BASTARDS want you to take a bike to work, paddle your boat to the 50 line, make love to a spotted owl, spend billions on elevated highways through the everglades so the panther can travel under them, allow the murder of our unborn children while endorseing the preservation of wild animals. These BASTARDS would love to see our great nation reduced to a has been. El presendante Bush is not your problem. Bush will be out of office next january, who will you blame then? Do you think McCain, Clinton or Barrak will be able to get the refineries to refine more oil than they are refineing now? Seeing how they are running at near 100% capacity now with no refineries having been built in over 20 years! Educate yourself to what drives oil prices. Oil prices are high because there are no alternative fuel infractures ready for the mass economy. Since we have few choices other than gas (for the moment)the oil produceing countries can and will hold us financially hostage. Oil is a commodity which, for now we cannot function without. Since it is a commodity, the traders are makeing billions of $ at our expense. Git pissed but aim it at those who deserve it.

Viva Bush!

Shane is right we could have oil piled to the sky but gas supplies would stay the same. The lack of refineries is the key to high fuel prices. The Bastards though Shane are the oil companies as well. They know the score and are not pushing hard for more drilling and new refineries. They might be up front but they know they make more money by sitting back.Like debeers the diamonds company. They have tons and tons of diamond in vaults but only release so much a year to keep the price high on diamonds.

Eric, respectfully speaking you are a little off on the oil companys. I'am not saying the oil companies aren't laughing all the way to the bank. But we need to understand why. We have over 100 drilling permits yet our company is restricted and buffeted at every attempt to drill a new oil well. Alaskas' anwar region is leased out but guess what? Big oil cannot drill because of the special interest groups and crooked politicians. The coast of florida is LOADED with oil and gas. Guess what? We voted against allowing big oil drilling off our coast. I even heard McCain say just last night he was against drilling in the everglades or in the north slope area, because the areas are prestine natural resources. Where the heck will they let us drill? You drill where the oil is. Are yall aware that there are massive oil produceing wells in downtown los angelas and hollywood Ca.? Our company has wells disguised as regular office buildings. You would never know that inside the beautiful office building there is oil and gas being produced.
Big oil has to make huge profits. When I was drilling in the gulf, our rig was working for 56K a day. We drilled some wells that took over 7 months. The oil companys sink huge dollars into exploration and drilling before a single barrel ever makes it to the surface. Don't get me wrong, I'am just as unhappy as anyone else about gas prices but I point the finger at special interest groups and crooked politicians. The reason that no new refineries are being built is because it is impossible to get a permit. Why? Special interest groups and crooked politicians using crooked judges to rule against the free market. We need to wake up and smell the stink of corruption that is driving oil prices through the roof. OPEC is ripeing us off but it's our own fault!

You are in the middle so you would know better then I.I wish some one would wake up and do something about it.From what I remember even if they said ok build a new refinery tomorrow it would take up to 3 to 6yrs to be built and running.
