Default day vs night

found it instering that the day time bite shut off from vero to the keys a couple weeks ago never seen it so bad up and down the coast i know the night works with the moon but wondering if any one has been keeping logs on day time to correlate with the moon also
been a year since the craze started
this should be a good conversation piece

No Logs but it seems like the bite slowed down in general.

Maybe they are grabbing a drink in the bahamas.

The day-trippers got them all !

If not them, then the Buoy guys gott'em all.

If not them, then it was definitely the Longliners that hammered them outside of the FEC and gott'em all.

Or possibly, the rest are all hangin' out in the Gulf of Mexico, Sipping on Ceviche Salads and Margaritas, after getting out of the delivery room.

It was interesting to note at the Sworfishing club last night: Capt. Ally (Commercial PLL Captain), commented that there were more large Swordfish caught by the recreational/commercial Day-trippers than the PLL fleet caught in the past 6 months. Obviously we need supporting data to back this statement. But there is nothing wrong with observing that the daytime thing is catching some very large swordfish. This is out of the normal from previous nighttime fishing observations of the recreational fleet. Indeed, from over the past 3 months or so, there have been many reports of particularly large swordfish being boated in the daytime.

Is this a significant issue? As I said before: No, providing the numbers are less than 5% of the PLL harvest. However, based upon this recent meeting dialogues, and if true, that the recreational guys can catch as many very very large fish in 3 months as it would take commercial PLL fishing to achieve in six (6) months, then indeed this may be VERY significant and should be watched closely. More later.
