Don't be a player hater. You did not have a bite because the bite was slow.

What makes you say that Eric?

Square Grouper, Did you guys get caught in that storm last night? We started at the V-spot and just before dark got hooked up. Really fat 57 incher. There was a nice fish, maybe around 70 inches that kept following him around the boat. By the time I got a line ready, it free jumped about 20 feet from the boat and took off. beautiful site. As soon as we got the fish on the boat, all hell broke loose. We got right in the middle of the nasty crap, and decided to get the hell out of there. That part was not fun. Back at the dock by 8pm, wet and cold but alive.

Nice job on the 57 incher When we cleared the inlet we saw two different storms on the screen and where we wanted to setup was right between them so rather than get stuck int he middle, we headed east out of the inlet and setup, drifted about an hour until the storm cleared then ran back south. Had nice weather all night but a fish would have been nicer. If you guys ever want to make a run together and save fuel in someones boat, let me know, I'm game. It's a lot of work for us far north guys.

Will,

Sorry to hear about your goose egg last night. To be honest I was afraid I was your bad luck skunk charm. At least I know I am not, as you got skunked without me. LOL. We need to plan a trip in the next few weeks. Ideally, I want to hit an afternoon sailfish bite then head to the grounds and go swording. We are both way way way overdue for a nice fish.

Take care,

Ben

SG,
For a while it looked like we were gonna drift right between the two storms. We also saw 2 funnel clouds just south of west palm beach on the way out. , As you said, it is quite a production to drive down there to fish for the night, then drive home and go to work the next morning, but I'm getting used to it. We should definetely hook up sometime. i'll let you know on the next weather window we get.
