Default 50-Line Forecast: Dec 19-23

50-line forecast for the Lighthouse Point area.

As of Saturday, December 22nd, 4:25am
Saturday... Under 12kt North winds changing to 15kt ENE winds by midnight. Mid-length 5ft wave. I don't think it'll be fun.

Sunday... 12kt NE winds and a long-period 4ft wave. Sounds like swelly conditions, but any wind from the NE is risky.

Monday... 9-13kt ENE winds with a long-period 3ft wave. Should just be swells, but that ENE wind can change things.

This graph was derived from http://www.BuoyWeather.com

Actually, I wasn't looking that far ahead yet. I'm waiting to see what the next update shows. Saturday may be good too since the wave period is long. But... the swell direction is from the NNE, and the winds are primarily out of the East. That means the surface waves and swells would not be moving in the same direction, most likely making it a confused sea.

Man that Buoy weather is really at odds with Weather.com and Noaa. Somebody is way off!

Weather.com's boating forecast focuses on nearshore conditions. NOAA's marine forecast averages the conditions from the beach to 20nm offshore. Anyone who has spent time on the sword grounds knows how different the seas can be between the beach and the 50-line... especially that area between 5 and 9 miles at the edge of the Gulfstream. The BuoyWeather forecast that I post focuses on the 50-line only.

Bring the camera Buck you can get some pics of a triple header!Because with North swells on the moon they should start sail surfing for sure.

Started out the inlet and had an engine problem. Turned around.

Did anyone fish last night?
