Not a local so inquiring if there is a difference weatherwise for fishing daytime swords out of Islamorada vs the Miami area. Sounds like off Islamorada they fish a drop off or wall. Not sure if it is in the Gulf Stream. I know Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area and the weather/wind that can keep you guys shorebound for a month or so. Are these conditions the same for Islamorada? If they don't fish in the Gulf Stream, then are sea conditions not as bad? What is the best time of year for down there. Being an angler traveling from the West Coast, it has proven to be a logistical nightmare to take advantage of the fishery off Ft. Lauderdale/Miami when you consider weather superimposed over a demanding work schedule.
