Default Swording Friday 12/14 - Roll Call

Friday looks like a nice night out, NOAA is calling for 2' or less (which means it'll end up being 6-8) so we're going to get out there and give it a shot. Who's going to be out there? It's been a little slim on reports lately, anybody catching 'em? It's time to get the old girl out and get her bloody again.

Actually, I'm on an island not too far from Georgetown, sipping on some pints of Tiger Beer. It's 5 p.m. somewhere else. But I had fresh Tuna for dinner last night. Can't wait to get back out on the clear ocean again, and help you put some fish in the boat. Like a Wahoooo. Good Luck tomorrow.

Looking a little sporty, but still do-able. Anybody got one of those fancy hour-by-hour wave height forecast thingamajigs?

FRIDAY
SOUTHEAST WINDS 10 TO 15 KNOTS. SEAS 2 FEET OR LESS NEAR
SHORE AND UP TO 2 TO 4 FEET IN THE GULF STREAM. INTRACOASTAL WATERS
A MODERATE CHOP. NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS.

FRIDAY NIGHT
SOUTHEAST WINDS 10 TO 15 KNOTS BECOMING 15 TO
20 KNOTS AFTER MIDNIGHT. NEAR SHORE...SEAS 2 FEET OR LESS BUILDING
TO 2 TO 4 FEET AFTER MIDNIGHT. WELL OFFSHORE...SEAS 2 TO 4 FEET.
INTRACOASTAL WATERS CHOPPY IN EXPOSED AREAS. SCATTERED SHOWERS AND
ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS.

Don't trust NOAA's generalized marine forecast... unless you expect it to be wrong.

My prediction: 14kt ESE winds, solid 3ft waves @ 5-seconds, and a fast drift. Conditions should be rather consistant today and tonight, with a slight increase by morning. So however the seas are now (11:30am) it should remain the similar for tonight. But beware of potential storms moving up from the SE... which are remnants of Olga's feeder bands.
