Default Louisiana

Does anyone have the contact information for a good charter boat captain in Louisiana?

How's the fishing over there in mid January?

Thanks.

Tuna

reel peace charters are great-We fished with Capt. Andy Cook and got two nice yft's 60-80 pounds. But you will just be chunking on the hump. This time of year, the bigger tuna show up; summer is numbers, winter and spring is size.

Ed Freaky - Tuna Time Charters - cell 985-665-3769 tell Angelo sent you.

Tuna Time Charters Charters, LLC 985-669-3769

Ed is the man for everything from tuna and wahoo to some of the best bottom fishing on the Gulf Coast.

The fishing there is pretty simple that time of the year. Most any captain you go with can put you on the tuna if they are eating. The wahoo is a differnt story the capt needs to be tuned in because they can move from one day to the next. As for bottom fishing if you don't have the spots or don't know which riggs to fish good luck. Other than Ed on tuna time, Reel Peace, Scott Avanzio with paradise outfitters, Eddie Burger with H2O guide service, Al Walker Extreme Xtreme fishing charters and Brett Faltermen trident charters are all great captains and will put you on the fish. PM me if you want some additional info. Also check out Mike Lane's Louisiana Fishing & Hunting for the latest reports.

I personally fish with capt mike, with reel peace charters, great capt, great charter service. the best time to fish the lump is jan to march, to catch huge yellow fin. the numbers are 985 534 2278 or 5044811327 . capt mike will have his new boat a custom built ''tank'' catamaran that will run 50 plus mph.
hope this helps ... tight lines n screeminnnn draggzzzz!!!!!!!!

I booked my trip with Mike. I am excited. I'm the only fisherman in my family that has not done Louisiana. I am stocking up on the soy sauce, ginger and wasabi!

At the risk of being chastised for not being grateful enough, thanks for everyone's help!

Default Trident Charters in Venice

I'd also suggest Captain Brett Falterman, out of Venice. In addition to being a great fisherman and all-around good guy, he's also a trained marine fisheries scientist. Here's his website: Trident Charters · Offshore Fishing from Venice Louisiana with Brett Falterman

Good fishing!

Nick, You still trying to get up here for a few days. I will have the new boat in a week. I do have some pictures I am trying to get put on here of it. I think the design will make alot of the monohull crowd rethink a cat. She is bad to the bone. Hey Bullfighter give me a call at 504 715 6597 I just heard from a friend you were looking for some venice info.
To Nick if you come buy a box of surgical gloves it will keep the poagie oil from staing every crease on your hands. The ladies definately don't like to be touched with poagie hands.

The boat was built up in your neck of the woods. The builder is in Mt Pleasent. The boat is built by Freeman Boatworks and is a 33X11 custom built cat. I am not the most computer savy person so I have to wait until tonight to take the photos off of another forum to post on here for you to see. Or you can go to the website which is Page 1 or you can go to the boating and outdoor photo section of Boating & Fishing Forum - The Hull Truth. The boat was built from the keel up as a dedicated charter boat. All rigging of the boat was done to make my tuna and swordfishing trips easier.

Mike,

I spoke with you early last week about the trip, then I booked it through Reel Peace Charters. That's you, right? I think you were booked on the 20th, so I am going with another captain from Reel Peace that day, but I have you booked for the next day, I think.

It would be nice to see some reports as we get closer to the date, so I know exactly how much soy sauce and wasabi to buy.

Sounds good I am sure I can switch my 20th trip to another captain if you want me for both days. The only way I wont be able to do that is if my guys on the 20th want a larger boat. I just got the dates last night so maybe it is already taken care of. As for reports just give me a call on my cell which I posted earlier. After fishign all day I don't have much computer time. A phone call would be alot easier. The lump is pretty demanding fishing.

Yeah, it would be nice if I could switch to fish with you on the 20th also. Although i am sure the other captains are well qualified, you seem to come highly recommended on this site.

I will call you for info on the fishing as we get closer. Thanks, and I am looking forward to it.
