Did anyone catch a day time sword last weekend? Friday was calm and I know we saw 15 boats around us with no blood on deck. We managed to pull a 51'' fish just before dark, but it was a long day of trying.
Just wondering if the are busting a move? |

Off of Miami there was no lack of effort daytime swording, with 40-60 boats trying it according to my friends down there. The fishing was pretty slow, although one fish around 400 was reported and verified. The night bite is starting to pick back up, however.

[quote=Shark Tagger;72670]Really? i was off fort lauderdale on Friday and didnt see many boats.
Granted, it's second hand info, but these guys are straight shooters and said that this weekend was the most boats that they have ever seen doing it. When I was down two weeks ago, I saw around thirty boats in roughly the same depth. Fishing was good then, with most everyone getting shots or fish.Different story this weekend. I guess deep swords get lockjaw too. |

I don't doubt it. Maybe they were just way further off than i was. I was out around the 46.5 line - where i normally fish.
The great think about daytime swording is if they arent biting you can come back in to fish the reef. or like the other day we had dolphin around the boat. However I still prefer NIGHT and no SUNLIGHT

we were out yesterday late afterrnoon around the 12X47 (1725 ft down). Pulled a hook on a nice fish 500ft from the boat at around sundown.
