I used to have my boat in the same Marina as him a couple of weeks ago; he does the same thing hoisting up any of his catches, to sailfish, sharks, and even mola mola(sunfish). The worst is when I saw the biggest skate ever and it was hanging off the hoist in the back of his boat. Glad I left that Marina and will not have to see him and his damn hoist again.

I definitely don't agree with the way that Mark the Shark goes about doing things/promoting his business, but . . . .
DAMN I wish I had caught half of the BIG FISH that he has caught. Love him or hate him, you gotta admit that this guys knows how to put 'em in da boat

agree with you tunachaser. He gets er done. I saw on the other forum people comparing his slaughter to that of a longline. I dont agree with that at all. He is still just one boat using rod/reel tactics.

That over-the-gunnel fighting chair is cool. But that's the only compliment I'll ever give him.

All I say he`s a fish hog ..should release some of the breeders... guess we could blame him if the sword fishing collapses in a few years!... wonder if he reports his swords??? any way to find out ???

I honestly hate to see dead sailfish. Why would you kill one?

Does that sail look like the alleged 82# to any of y'all? Looks much smaller to me.

I love it. Keep killing the breeders.

I guess my kids will never have a chance to catch a sword at this rate.

I do not mind keeping a 500 lber here or there, but damn, it seems to be happening way too much lately. What ever happen to keeping the smaller ones for food and letting the larger ones go to keep breeding?

I wonder if it released its roe. Regardless, what do you to do with all that meat if your not a commercial fisherman anyways.

Guys like this are going to destroy the fishery. I know is it only fish, but you have to be ignorant if you do not believe that there are not others out there who do worse. Bye bye swordies!

I agree the guy should leave some for future, but at the same time he is one hell of a fisherman. Plus I am not sure how much damage one man in one boat can do.

the sad thing is that Joe Public is actually impressed by this behaviour and it results in good business for this guy

You nailed it. As a Master of self promotor it does not matter what was people are saying about him, good or bad, as long as people are talking abut him.

I have been saying this for months and everyone loves to argue the fact that our fishery will suffer once again and that other generations will never experience the joy of sword fishing. Well gee it takes a real rocket scientist to figure out if you kill all the females the stock will collapse. Only a matter of time. These people who keep killing fish that they do not need to boost the ego's will get what is coming to them in the end. Karma always work itself out in the end. Pretty soon we will be seeing posts of all these people day dropping killing 250 pounders then 100 pounders. Then they will be day dropping pulling up 47 inchers and thinking they are the man. Bravo to everyone who keeps killing the females BRAVO! I wish more people would look at what Timmy and Dennis did last week. They set an awesome example. I have way more respect for them that any of these other idiots killing these large females. Once again bravo!
