Swordfish Landings Update

September figures are in and the following is the Sept catch stats:

PLL North of 35N 279,118 lbs

PLL South of 35N 93,145 lbs

Rod and Reel S of 35N 1,329 lbs

Buoy gear S of 35N 14,068 lbs

Total Septmeber landings 386,660 lbs or 193.33 tons

Total landings since June1,07 1,160,844 lbs or 580 tons

No opinions this time, make your own conclusions......

Thanks Ron, for posting the most recent numbers as of Nov. 16, 2007.

For fiscal year 2007 (June 1 - December 31): presently at 12% of quota*.
* - represents 4 months of swordfishing harvest, to date, usually a 12 month cycle.

Even if you add 250 tons (mt dw) to this total, a purely estimated annual recreational harvest: the would bring U.S. up to nearly 18% of quota.

Is there any news on the actual Recreational Fishing numbers?

I am curious to know how a 7 month fiscal year end would be represented at year end?
