Default Grand Slam Broadbill Classic

The Grand Slam/Castaways Broadbill Classic Tournament is this weekend, October 20-21. Lines in at 6 p.m. Saturday and lines out at 6 a.m. Sunday morning. Weigh stations will be at Lake Worth inlet and Jupiter inlet. This is the final leg of a 4 tournament series that pays a guaranteed $10,000 to the largest fish weighed in all 4 tournaments. The current leader for the $10k is 119.6 lbs. There will be a Captains meeting and registration on Thursday at the Square Grouper in Castaway Marina.
For more information, check out their website BroadBill Classic , or you can contact the tournament director, Scott Nichols at (561) 262-6424.

So, who's fishing this one? That $10k is tempting me......

It doesnt really matter, does it...its a fixed payout, and big fish over 119.6 wins 10K

I still owe you a drink for that, but I think we're sitting this one out, so we won't get in your way. I hope you win the 10k - you have Karma on your side. Good luck to you and your crew.

So does a snag count? I would look to see if IGFA rules apply disclaimer is in the rules but I'm to lazy.. Man that would suck if it didn't...

No problem with hook placement, this is swordfishing; we left it in for all to see.

Joes' Addiction, AKA Team High-DrO-Glow, won with a 179 lb fish;
2nd place fish was 108 lbs. No one weighed in a 3rd place fish given
the 57" inch minimum. There were 3 places for releases and two
releases won those by time. One boat caught 3 fish under 57" but decided to keep some for dinner, missing the $2500 1st prize for releases; expensive dinner!!

I'm going to let E-$ tell the story; it was a honor to fish with these
guys; Capt Joe, E-$, DoradoSteve, Seppo, Lindus and his friend
Nick from LI. We netted over $15K and plaques for winning this leg
and the overall Grand Slam with biggest fish. A lot of pictures and
video was shot (but not by me) so I'm sure we'll see some pixs.

A big thanks to the organizers for another fun tournament.
cheers, arthur
