As far as fighting the fish, well you would have to harness up. Amazing how all the those boats planned on fighting fish standup with those long bent butts. Mad props for you fighting that fish stand up for 7 hours on the long bent butt And Braid IS igfa legal just has to be 130lb or less!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IGFA has a line class of 130 so Jerry Brown is IGFA legal to fish with. Last I heard, there are at least 2 pending igfa records using the 130# Jerry Brown. I'll see what came of that later.
For the catch to make the record books... the line used must be tested. But for everyone that is fighting their fish stand up... Jerry Brown is about to come out with a new line where the 130# will be as it is now and there will be an IGFA rated 130#. Braided line is legal. -Tek PS... good job to the winners. And there's not doubt in my mind that the intent of the rule is a released fish isn't one that is released into your fishbox

To be completely honest and I was telling Eric the same thing, after viewing the rules more closely we might not have been eligible anyway Next year need to go to the Capt Meeting.....well tell Nick about it when we get back Actually the way they set up the "release" division with the disposable cameras was a great idea. I like the idea of a calcutta based upon the number of fish you catch in addition to division based on the size of the fish you catch and never saw a good way to do that. The disposable camera is great idea as it eliminates a lot of complications.I would prefer something more along the lines of my interpretation of the rule leaving the ability to "release" the fish or keep the fish at the discretion of the crew but regardless..... picture = catch minus the fish you choose to weigh. With the picture being alive or dead. Would be a competitive calcutta, I would place more money on that bet than on big fish. Either way it was a good tournament, suprised so few boats considering there was some ching for a minimal entry. Congrats again to Eric's Crew

We represented well!Im just thinking of the SEVEN hour battle. Good thing E$ was on the rod, as there is NO way that I could ever do that. Certainly not our biggest catch, but it is one that wont be forgotten. Professor O- I like your style & your always welcome to join us on the "Nothing Drift"
