When we discussed the problem with the board members, the decision was made that our members would rather go fishing on a Saturday night rather than to a party.
It really a small club outing. I am sure the guys that want to fish both, will handle any problems with the dual events. I will talk to the guys again about moving it to Friday night. The SOB club has a swordfish tournament on the 21st too. Last edited by Skip Smith; 07-14-2007 at 12:39 PM.. |

It is more of a picnic for the crews of the families to be more involved with Dads addiction of fishing, sorry but spending time with the family is more important than fishing this weekend, good luck to you guys that are fishing the tournament

That is just great, you are using this fishing party/meeting as a means for family fun time, just so that you can going fishing next weekend. Pass the junky a beer, a wing and a raffle prize: he's got purple fever pretty bad. Well perfect, I like it, that sounds like a good family planning! I wish YOU luck to catch a fish next weekend, but only under one condition, if you are trolling for them. Otherwise, jinxies, we need a big fish in the boat more than you do.

We looked at the Doppler weather radar sweep and decided to hold off for an hour or so. (Weather.com provides a great interactive radar display.) Then we went fishing anyway since the boat was already packed and ready. On the way out from Boca Inlet it was clearing up but the reported South wind was actually NW with waves and white caps going with it. Nothing bad though.
We were setup before dark and we got tight around 9:30. Had a fish on for about 20 minutes then slack. 0 for 1 for the night. Heard on the radio about someone getting a 70" fish but did not catch the boat name. That's a nice fish for the guys that got that one.
