Default X-Generation Haulover Swordfish Tournament - pregame thread

The tournament is still 100% on for this Saturday night. Unless something drastically changes, I'll make the final decision on Saturday morning when I take my boat out to the gulf stream to check the seas and weather out. I'll post it on this thread and on the website.

I am still very confident in the weather because they still haven't got the forecast right for today. 15-20 knot prediction is 10 knots right now.

We are still fishing...and the kickoff party (what you all have been waiting for) is this Friday night starting at 6 PM. The schedule is on the website. Haulover Swordfish - Leg 2 of the Broadbill Circuit

We just bought all the drinks and there will be TWICE as much as there was at the Lauderdale event....and we didn't even run out then!

The raffle prizes keep getting bigger and better....this is one you all won't want to miss!

See you Friday night at Banyan Bay Marina at 6 PM! The directions are below.

I-95 to Griffin, go west. Make first right on Anglers Avenue and take that .25 mi. north to Banyan Bay Marina before the bridge. Make left (you'll see banner on the fence) and go 300 ft. to the gate and make a right and park....then drink!

I still am not buying the forecast...bulk of the rain seems to be on Friday...fine....but they keep saying E winds 15-20 knots for today....

It's still barely blowing 10 knots here and I live a few houses down from the ICW in Fort Lauderdale. They are STILL getting the wind forecast wrong and I wouldn't be surprised if this kept happening through the weekend...actually I would be very pleased but they can't even get the forecast right on the same day!!!

East winds 15 to 25 for the last 3 weeks and now they think that low will become tropical and cross Fl this weekend.

I'm thinking all the registered teams can come over and fish for my groupers in my fish tank. If you catch my biggest grouper, you win.

I was out yesterday and this morning and it wasn't all that bad. It's starting to pick up now and get a little worse. Turtle's fishing right now and he says it's pretty chunky. The way it sits now with this tropical 'system' inbound and what not, I will MOST LIKELY make the call on Friday night unless it magically lets off.

What we're praying for right now is that the rain holds off until Sunday/Monday so we can at least party it up tomorrow night. As of right now, the tournament is still on, it is subject to postponement due to weather, and the kickoff party is still on unless otherwise stated. See ya'll tomorrow night. We'll have a decision for you then.

Just praying on the rain here.....unless something drastically changes over night on the rain....my best guess is that we'll be okay for tomorrow night and the rain will start heavily the following afternoon.....my guess is as good as NOAA's.

I'll post up on the kickoff party tomorrow morning...

dude, your in a 32' boat. theres a big difference in the comfort level from your boat to mine. i can deal with the rain but not 4-6' seas. this decision has to be good for everyone...

I know thats why i asked Mike "where are you getting 10kts from?" I fish when its rough, but only if my charter says they want to, and its no unsafe. After all i have bills to pay
