Sail Club President, Ali, informed a member of our committee more than a month ago, that they will have no issues with anglers fishing multiple events that coincide with theirs. There are no conflicts linked to the activities of either event. Fish once weigh-in twice. 2 for 1.

$250 of your entry is tax deductible.

This is a charity event the directly benefits missing children.

If you can't fish the tournament, come to a fantastic Captain's Party sponsored by Gosling Rum. Gosling girls will be there to put on Gosling tatoos, we have some auction items especially for women and a table set up with kids activities. The $20 non-fishing entrance fee is also tax deductible. We have sports personalities, caribbean music and Doc's famous clam chowder. It's definitely a kick-off party!

Hope to see you Friday, Oct. 6th. to support ACIM's mission.

What percentage of the $250 goes to the chairty?

If I decide to fish the tourney I would like to know how much of my money actually goes to the chairty.

Of the $500 entry fee, $250 goes towards cash prizes and the remaining $250 goes directly to the charity.

Birddog0219 ..... promotion costs are covered with other proceeds. Does that answer your question?

As of today, A Child Is Missing Alert is proud to announce 163 Safe Assisted Recoveries

The purpose of grassroots Fundraising efforts, is to raise capital so that we can train as many Sheriffs, Chiefs, Officers/Deputies, PIO's, communications, and detectives across the nation on how to use the Alert Program to find missing children. The program is free to law enforcement nationwide.

All proceeds from fishing the Dusk To Dawn or joining us at the Oct. 6th Gosling Rum Captain's Party goes directly towards expanding our mission.

We welcome all anglers and non-anglers at the party!

FISH MULTIPLE TOURNAMENTS - October is a popular Tourney month!

Anglers, sorry for the delay. The Captain's meeting is going forward!!!! See you at the Dania Beach Boat Club at 6pm to register!!

Captain Rick Peeples will determine by Friday at the Captain's Meeting whether lines-in will be this Saturday or next Saturday the 14th.

....if weather does NOT permit weigh-in will remain at the same tine at Lauderdale Marina on either Sunday at 5 -8 AM.

This includes the Awards Party at Rendezvous Bar and Grill set for Monday night, the Awards Party will be Oct. 16th, if we don't Fish this weekend.

Any questions please call, Tiffany at 305-299-4545. The weather may be good to us. Good luck anglers!

I picked up a copy of the rules at the SAIL meeting tonight and have some questions:

1) Rule 5 says " You may use a gaff or flying gaff however, no mechanical propulsion"

Are harpoons OK? What qualifies as "mechanical propulsion" (spearguns?)

2) Rule 7 says "Fishing will be restricted to US territorial waters"

Territorial waters end at 12 miles offshore. The EEZ is ~25 miles offshore. Can we presume that you mean fishing within the EEZ is OK and that we do not have to fish in territorial waters?

3) Rule 8 says "Fish must be caught on rod and reel (no electric reels) or buoy gear."

I am hoping that the "or buoy gear" is supposed to be in the parentheses with "no electric reels", thus disallowing buoy gear. Is that a typo or is buoy gear allowed? I sure hope that it is not.

I don't want to cause a problem here, but I really think those rules need to be clarified.

Your post is a bit confusing in that you state that you got the rules at the SAIL meeting. Just for clarification purposes, the rules you are questioning are not the rules for the SAIL club tournament. While I did not get any information on this event at the SAIL meeting last night, I did see and speak to Kitty. It is always a pleasure to talk to her.

That being said, the intent of the rules you quote look pretty obvious to me.

Hopefully the weather will lay down a bit and both events can proceed as planned. Catch'em up and be safe.
