Default Islamorada Swordfish Tourney Results

This past weekend was the 3rd Annual Islamorada Swordfish Tournament.

Capt Rick Peoples asked me to post the results.


1st Place Overall- Double D Released 7 total
Capt. Dean Panos

2nd Place Overall-Chips Ahoy Released 5 total
Capt. Chip Sheehan

3rd Place Overall- Miss Britt Released 5 total


1st Place Release Division- Double D


2nd Place Release Division- Chips Ahoy

3rd Place Release Division-Miss Britt


1st Largest Fish- Nothin Wild – Donald Houser -324lbs.

2nd Largest Fish- Captain Hurricane-William Wagner IV-185lbs.

3rd Largest Fish- Shock & Awe-Rocky Scofield -146lbs

Top Angler-Jason Kalivoukas

Top Lady Angler- Diane Harbaugh 3 releases


Top Junior Angler- None

Top Captain Dean Panos Double D



Congrats to Dean Job well done brother!

100 points per release or 1 point per pound but minimum size is 60 inches (~100 pounds) for a killed fish. This minimizes killing a lot of the smaller fish.

Good Deal Dean and Congrats! Have you had any shots at Swordies the Flyrod yet? Eddy set ya up right with the rod! When your done with it, I'm going to start fishing it hard.

We have actually hooked two on fly but only for a few seconds. The last guy that booked ( the one I borrowed the rod from Eddie) actually cancelled due to storms that night but he is rebooking in Sept. Hopefuly we'll catch one on the long rod! (I just hope its small)
