I agree with Nick C... and I think, no one should fish any tournament where the promoter or his family is fishing.... period..... when that happens and the promoter wins, everyone will think something was up..... I've heard that many times before..... and the only way to find out for sure is to pay for an independent polygraph of the whole crew... as far as pictures (I'm not saying that anyone did that) all swords look alike... it's very easy to take a picture of the same fish at different spots in the boat... a video camera should be mandatory for all tournaments...

Funny you should say that. You must have a lot of tournaments under your belt.
As far as video, not ever is a pro with the camera like you lol. Anyhow, you didn't fish so why does it matter? Congratulate the guys! They managed to catch two fish, while most of buoy boat fleet caught jack chit! You want to know what's really BS about this hole thing? We really won, but didn't enter hahaha.

And how about in Islamorada when they got dq'ed because they blew a turbo on the way in and made it back late.
And when Capt. Peeples DQ'ed his biggest sponsor back a couple years ago when they failed the poly. Just sayin. Seems like they play fair in this one.

Congrats to the winners. WTG DL. We pulled off a good one that ate a live runner at about 11:00 and had another lil hit on a squid.
Someone stole all my food, drinks and rigged squid outta the truck at Miami Beach marina. Hope i find out who it was. Fat to anyone with information that leads to the beating of suspect.

Congrats to the winners!
Tough fishing out there Friday night. Fished north the 00 -04 were covered in buoys. Watched them catch one fish that ended up 100' from my spread by the time they caught it. Saturday sent a hand crank down 1700' at lines in at 7, was hooked up by 7:06. Pulled that one off 10' ft from the leader at 8:20. ![]() Nothing else till about 12:30 when we had one in the lights and it bit the tip rod but pulled that one off as well.

We did manage to pull off a double after making a bold move and wasting an hour running to the promised land. Both hit at 300', a live bait and a squid. During the fight we had a 150lb-200lb swim thru the light, we tried pitching baits out but she faded away. What chaos having a double and a third fish swim right behind the boat.
The first fish was about 52" on the livie hooked in the pec fin. The second was about 57" hooked down its throat. Both swam away to catch this weekend. Release No. 1 [IMG] [/IMG]![]() Release No. 2

I agree 100 percent Springer.Release's should win the release calcutta but not the whole damn tourney.Your job in a swordfish tourney is to bring weight to the scale period who ever weigh's the heaviest fish wins that simple it dont matter if one fish was weighed or twenty were weighed sounds like some one got the short end of the stick...............

Well the guy that caught the biggest fish wasn't in any of the calcuttas.
This tournament was designed to see who can catch the most, just like the BBC. There is a calcutta for the biggest fish boated, but the overall tournament goes to the one who can put points on the board. If i put both in the boat, they would have weighed more than 115lbs. And in a swordfish tournament it isn't who brings in the single heaviest fish, they are all different. Look at the Daytime Tournament, bring in 2 to the scale. So a combined weight wins. If i caught one 250lb daytiming and someone caught two 130lbers, i would say he kicked my ass, he had the skill to catch more.

Nelson,
Congrats, but your logic below is also flawed - If i put both in the boat, they would have weighed more than 115lbs. Why, because there was a 60" minimum, correct? Also, didn't the tourney require "date and time stamped" photos? If not, a tee shirt at the end of the gaff in the shot is not totally air tight either. Tight lines. Juani |

AIR TIGHT..... ok let's all come up with ideas for future tournaments. video requirements... 1 before calling a hook up, turn on your camcorder and videotape the call with the answer confirmation number over the radio.. have two participants confirm the radio transmission. 2 when the fish is near the boat, videotape uninterrupted until the fish is on board, place a newspaper of that day on the fish, take measurements of the fish, keep videotaping until a radio confirmation is given over the radio.. and have two participants confirm the radio transmission. 3 if the fish is going to be release: when the fish is near the boat, videotape uninterrupted until the fish is under control use the newspaper to date the fish, release the fish, call it in wait for a confirmation over the radio.... and have two participants confirm the radio transmission.
