The word on the street is that the Summer tournament will start a little later in the evening this time to help level the field for those that don't have "daytime/deep-drop" gear or experience.

As far as I know, yes. I *think* it will be back to the old schedule. Lines wet from 7pm-3am with a 5am weigh-in deadline.
I'm probably gonna start working with Drew on the new 2009 Summer Sword Slam tournament brochure in about a month or so. |

whiteout, if I won a few tourney's sponsors will find me . One thing I learned racing my whole life is you have to ask for help people will not offer. Once you make it to the top of your game everyone will want to get on your shirt tales. that is when you have to remember the guys who help you in the beginning.

I was sponsored for alot of the tournaments last year because people would see me at the dock a few days before the tournament with good fish we would tell them about the tournament and they would help us out. They paid for the entree fee and the Calcutta. made it harder on us tho when we were using other people's money |

Guys , I just spoke to them and he has had personal problems and the tournament is going down just on a smaller scale,. $100.00 per boat winner takes all. lines in 7:00 out 12:00 or maybe later weather permitting ? weigh in at 15th street ramp. call him direct to enter 954-663-1560. sat night july 11. no buoy gear , no electric reels !
sounds like fun no stress

Just five hours of fishing? That sounds off. What weather (permitting)?
FRIDAY THROUGH SATURDAY EAST WINDS 5 TO 10 KNOTS. SEAS 2 FEET OR LESS. INTRACOASTAL WATERS A light CHOP. I am missing this one as I have most tourneys this past year. I will be drinking Kaliks this weekend instead. ![]() ![]() One of these days, I want to reassemble Team Fintastik and have at it again. We did well a couple years ago and were involved in the strangest sword tourney finish when two swords came in at exactly the same weight, ours and team Carbon Copy's. However, one of the swords was a little extra wet. But, Darren did weigh his fish first and we had no problems with it in the end. This was part of the defunct swordfish series that we were in second place in overall, if I remember correctly. We placed third in the next tourney (Haulover) and then poof, the whole thing was canceled. I am a big fan of series because it truly shows the best team. Someone should bring back the series concept.Tight lines. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Juani Last edited by Captain Juan; 07-07-2009 at 10:33 AM.. |
