We barely even had a chance to fish on the Hailey Ryan. Engine issues forced us limp out to the grounds at 12kts from Boca. We didn't make our first drop 'til about 4pm. Had 1 hooked-up for a few minutes on our second drop of 5 total. We even had a humorous run-in with Homeland Security's Midnight Express boat. I'll post a full report this evening.

Congratulations to this event's winners!

Great Tournament Skip. We pulled the hook early and had another bite later on (possibly a shark). It was a beautiful day. Cant wait for the next one.

Congratulations to the winners.

I think everyone has those numbers judging by the amount of boats fishing that area; it was a mess over this past weekend

I just had to add that to make sure everyone read the rules!
if you dont have rules without any controversy, what fun is there!

Also its one point a pound too for the ones that may have to hand crank!

Lets discuss it at the meeting!

Dear Swordfish Club Members & Friends:

Our next meeting is: Sept 9, 7pm, @ the LHP Yacht Club

Our speaker will be Ms. Amy Heemsoth, from Nova SE University Oceanographic Center, will speak on "What do Swordfish Eat." She has been analyzing the gut content of local swordfish and will share what they have found in swordfish off South Florida.
Here is our 2009 schedule. (Wednesdays, unless otherwise stated)
Nov 11, LHP Yacht Club

The 2009 membership fee will be $75.00 (down from$125) as we really want to keep our members happy and involved in the club. Membership includes access to all meetings, the internet reporting site and all the great speakers and their stories. Due to this new price we will not be including a t-shirt, but we will have some new RJ Boyle designed T-Shirts for sale at the meetings.

There will be a guest fee of $15 and students (college too) are always free (with ID or a darn good story)

Don’t forget the club offers us their pasta bar (and ice cream) for $25 and that includes their tip.

All Lpyrc meetings are to be held at 7pm, at the Lighthouse Point Yacht and Racquet Club.
2701 NE 42nd Street
Lighthouse Point, FL 33064
Phone: 954-942-7244

Please note that all meetings may be moved or cancelled due to uncontrollable circumstances. (calm weather and hot fishing being the most popular excuse)

We are recognized by NMFS as the largest group of recreational Swordfisherman in the world. Let’s keep it going!

Please email me with any questions you may have: skip@customshootout.com

See you there!

Skip, RJ, Ron & Jeff
Swordfish Club - Recreational Swordfishing Club

Because there is a North South boundary limit but of course that would not require Longitude - only Latitude. Harry

It's great to see someone reads the rules.

Anyone think about it being a Religous Holiday Weekend? Not the best choice for everyone. Pushed back a week, like Dave said, might be better. Harry

If you push it back to the weekend of the 26 then it will be during the Miami Swordfish Tournament.

I would like to fish both if possible. I don't think too many people will have this issue but just my dilemma...

I did not realize the conflict with the Miami Tournament on the 26th. I guess it is best to leave it on the 19 as originally scheduled. Harry
