Erm...y'all dump your carcasses in the harbor? That's a serious taboo around here. Of course, we have a ton of charter boats fishing every day, and all those boats dumping carcasses into the harbor would make a fine cess pool. We haul our carcasses out into the Gulf and dump them. Maybe y'all don't have that problem with only a few carcasses and the pinfish, catfish, and crabs can handle them all.

Its double jeopardy on the carcasses. Most cleaning spots here have a host of cleanup critters. Also the tide makes a big difference. Even if they didn't your not allowed carcasses on the boat. As a recreational angler your only allowed to posses whole fish of any regulated species. The pelican nazis harassed me one day for pitching carcasses in the water. Said I was killing the birds by allowing them to eat the carcasses. I told him I couldn't stop them if I tried, and pointed out Aileen. She's a one legged pelican who has been a scrap hound for years w/ no adverse effects. I do bury a few every year when the garden goes in.
By the way sweet fish guys
