Daytime 9/2 and 9/3

Set up in front of haulover and sent a squid down. Had a light current and finding the bottom was no problem with mono. After about 10 minutes the line felt heavy. Reeled up to find a 25 - 30# barrell fish on the hook. As I was reeling it up the high rod ( dead blue runner with 10 oz lead at 80' and balloon) starts going off. My dad picks it up and starts a 10 min battle with a 35# bull. After about 15 jumps and flips it was in the boat. We stayed and dropped for 3 more hours with no luck. On monday we dropped for a few more hours in heavy current with no success. I quess I got spoiled with my first day drop over the winter. That time we dropped and were on in minutes. I can't wait till the fish show up again so I can keep tryin.
