Catch My Drift-5 Swords last night 8/25

Crushed 'm last night guys. Wasn't expecting much, our luck hasn't been that good lately. Past few weeks have been slow for us to say the least. Last Saturday we fished the tourney and we hooked a few, but sadly pulled the hook on all 3 of 'em. Friday nights have been slim picking for us though lately. Well, we were due for a good night and last night we hit the jackpot. Capt. Adam found a sweet little temperature change. It was a really strange drift... in, then out, then back in again. We had to "drive" away from the baits just to get the baits out. Well anyway, we caught our first fish. It was a dink so we just cut the line next to the boat. Started putting the lines back and out and got another. Caught him, caught another, etc... etc.... I don't think we ever got more than 7 or 8 lines out again that night, we just kept catching them.

All said and done, we ended up catching 5 swordfish(out of 7). 4 of them were keepers. Of the keepers, the smallest was about a 50 pounder and the biggest was a 64" forklength, about a 140 pounder. it was a great night of swordfishing out there for us Friday Night, and let me tell you, we were due for a good night. Oh yeah, we also caught a nice blackfin tuna. Kinda cool little bonus fish. Anyway, the fish seem to be biting so good luck to everyone fishing this week. We'll see you out there next Friday Night.
