Default Sunday Night fishing report, 8/12, 1-1

Sunday night was more of the same for this month, SLOW.

We were fishing on Final Point, with Pat (FP), Nick C, Cooper, myself and the designated lady angler, Kahleen Q.

Not too many boats fishing, probably due to the day time job gig thing.

No reports of any fish on VHF 72 .

We hooked up around midnight with a swordfish on the stern tip rod about 200 FSW. Nick C kept the line tight but before he could hand the rod over to Kahleen the fish was at the boat; C'est la vie. At least we had our good luck charm on the boat. That is the reason we caught fish last night: yeah yeah, that's the ticket. ;

No fish in the boat but one can say that it is better than goose eggs. 1 for 1 for us this evening, with the fish being released. And so it goes, this slow newmoon, calm seas, cumulonimbus cloud in the distance but clear Sunday night. Can't wait for the Wahoo bite to turn on in two weeks.

So what happened? Was the fish short or did you pop him off at the boat?

And when do you want to go Wahooing?

The swordfish was about 40 inches, so it was released. Unfortunately, we did not have a fish tag. Next time we'll be ready, but most of the time the fish are keeper size for us.

No time is a bad time to catch a Wahoo although the moon may be a little more aligned in our favor when it is Full. How does two weeks sound? You extend the invitation and the fishermen will come. The Lunatics are ready.
