Default Ft. Pierce Sword Report 8/11

Myself, Beerman, and an ex-coastie buddy of mine cleared Ft. Pierce Inlet and headed east. Set up deep and first drift was no action for about 1.5 hours and we checked baits. Chewed up, but not slashed. Ran south and in a little and set up shop again. Drift looked a lot better with lots of bait in the light, a little cooler water and some weed. Netted a ballyhoo in 1500' swimming through the hydro glow and that provided the only actin on that drift. Decided to move in shallower since we heard of the other boats having some action and found a good temp break with some cooler water. 30 minutes into the drift at 1:30am the shallow and deep tip sound off simultaneously and 10 minutes later the gaff is sunk into a 63" fish Definately felt good to have the long run pay off for us.

Just wondering, did you use a sea anchor?
