Wow.
And this skiff and its crew were where? On the 50? I can see a new sport, a new deadliest catch in the works...fishing from dingies in the middle of the Florida straights for fish bigger than the boat. Insane. I won't be going on a dingy but I will be out tomorrow night on my bud's 27 Contender. Juan |

I have boated several swordies on my 17' Mako. Needless to say I don't recomend anyone to do so, but let me tell you my little boat is lucky. You would be supprised at the looks that I had at the docks pulling up with a fish that dosent fit so well in the boat!

This is a true story......
Several years ago I was slowly cruising offshore, visibility was extremely limited due to fog when I noticied something bobbing in the water about 25 yards in front of me. As I approached I could not believe my eyes, a guy was about four miles offshore in a pool lounger with a fishing rod. He wore dive fins to propel himself offshore and was using a bloody blue runner for bait. I asked him what he thought he was doing and he told me honestly that he was shark fishing I guess it takes all kinds.....

It's a TRUE story, I was in my patrol boat at the time. I pulled the guy and his lounger out of the water and put him on my boat, drove him to the beach off Port Everglades and told him if we catch his ass out there again we would arrest him.
I never would have believed it if I had not seen it with my own eyes!!
