A little late, sorry.

Got down south with a couple friends to fish with the famous NickC. Sorry if my locations are vague, but I don't know the area so hang with me. Went south out the inlet and set up on the 50 line. Drifted for a couple hours zig-zagging our way around lines of buoy gear. We had a very nice spread out all night.

Around 11:00, we notice the tip on the short jug bouncing a lot. Nick starts reeling and gets tight. Tells me to let the long jug go out, but he pulls the hook. I put the reel out of free-spool and step back. One second later it starts screaming!

Push it to strike and get tight. I fight the fish while JR.ANGLER1's little brother gets harnessed up and soon he is hooked up. With 22lbs of drag, Will did an awesome job of not being pulled out of the boat 25 minutes later the fish is on the surface basically dead coming towards the boat. There is a 150-200lb fish following up our fish. Couldn't get him to eat though. Comes to the boat and I get to test out my new Black Bart gaff finally. Came out to around 56-58", couldn't get an accurate measurement because we were using a ruler

All in all it was a really fun night without me releasing some Mud Darts

Nice photos. Nice report.

My brother in law, Capt. Rob., had a charter Monday night (a little bumpy out there....his out of town charter was steadily chumming) and went 4 X 4 on sharks and tagged and released a 47-incher.

I have seen on several posts and reports that the sharks are very active and annoying out there in the last couple weeks. I wonder why.

I am gonna try going out a couple nights next week.

Man I'd go nuts if we caught 4 sharks! We did catch a T-head tonight(along with about a 45" sowrdy) and we caught one on the 4th. Ironically, we caught them in almost the same exact spot. Tonight we were about.5 miles east of where we caught the last one! Stay away from the 21!
