Default Stormy Jupiter Swordin 7/3/07

PlanB, Bruce, ALW, Capt.Tater, and I head at out 6 and head south. Stop on a nice weedline and picked up a peanut and I'm 90% sure we saw a Swordfish free jumping. Thought it was a Marlin, but it had a huge bill.

Setup south of Palm Beach Inlet on V-Spot. It's still bright out, but to the west-northwest it is night. Radar said the storm was 8 miles wide and ran the whole coastline.

We decide to wait a little while to see what the storms are doing. Put out two jugs and a tip rod. Storm starts getting closer and Mitch on the radio is suggesting a run south maybe. Temp. drops way down so we pull everything out of the water and run south. It's still bright out, tip rod got slashed by the way.

Dodge storms and lightning south all the way to Delray. Come around the storms and head back to our spots to the north. Get set up again around 9:30. Drift for awhile and decide to head deeper and reset around 12:30. Get the lines out and everything and relax.

Took this with my new Olympus Stylus 770.

Jugs look a little funny with the middle jug going off to the right for some reason, oh well. Decide to check baits 30 minutes later and Hmmm.... middle jug seems heavy. Put PlanB on the rod and he gets tight on the fish. Fish is under the boat and looks like a big Dolphin, gets closer and SWORDFISH! Bill and a clean release.

Head in around 1:30 with some huge swells in the stream. It was a fun nervous night Thanks PlanB .

His first fish and it never touched the floor. I am very careful of that. It didn't require any measuring. I knew it was too small when I looked at it and thought it was a big Dolphin when he was straight down

Thanks guys
