We were set to go Fri afternoon but the front that came by wasn't by yet in the afternoon so we decided to get up and go at midnite and fish the moon set, woke up and checked the puter and the rain had passed and we were off for midnite madness, first off and yes Blue Boat raises another Mako, And a grand dad at that, I swear its the 4 stroke, anyway he comes up and is rubbing the motor like a cat rubbing against your leg, I get the cable rig out and of course its all tangled up, get it on and put a tinker on it and hand feed him from 3 feet away ! what a rush ! anyway he takes off to Lucy's house screamin an 80 pretty good, He ate through stainless steel 400lb aircraft cable like it was thread ! 15 mins later comes back and eats a jug rod, gone, 15 mins later he eats the 400 ' tip rod and we are tight again, screams 600 yards off an 80 @ 35 lbs like it is a zebco ! of course mono and gone again. Now moon is settin and sun is crackin, what an awsome sight ! now dolphin time ! slammed a few for breakfast . Start trolling home and low and behold a pallet ! and it is looooooooded with waho ! first pass and of course I dont have wire, only dolphin lures on mono, first one skyrockets 30' in the air and clip, then a 35 lb dolphin, then we get a hoo, anyway 4 lures gone to hoos we ended up with 2 hoos in the 25lb range , and some good slammer dolphin in the 10 lb range, now were off boca, I call another boat to come take over as we had enough, you know the good karma thing that Turtle taught me, this guy is by himself and his first pass by and 2 rods go off with hoos, He is a happy camper and I built some good karma for my next trip. Another faboulous trip to burn into the memory bank.

My contribution to Karma 2 weeks ago was pulling about 50-75 Ft. worth of a 4" dia. ship's dockline out of the ocean off of Stuart. This thing had at least 100 lbs. of bait living under it, but all I could think of was one of US hitting the damned thing on our way home from the drift at 2:00 in the morning. If a big twin-screw diesel SF hit it the engines would winch the propellers together with the torque that they have, not to mention the struts, hull and gear damages!!!. Several 10's of thousands of dollars..

Man, what a pain in the ass it was to haul what must have been over 300 lbs. of it all covered in "chit" into my cockpit through the transom door.

Yes, it did have a couple dolphin on it, but they were absolutely not interested in a thing I threw at them (kinda' late in the day), including ballao chunks and squid. Unfortunately, I did not have any greenies which is usually the right medecine for picky dolphin.

Anyways, anybody launching at Sandsprit Park in Manatee Pocket might have seen this mother load of rope which I left on land on my way in...I let Martin County finish this clean-up...

That was a great night.
The sight Nick and I saw was a nice swordy free jumping in 300ft of water. It jumped 8 or 9 time from every angle. It was a very cool sight.Tried to bait it but some tool in a yellow Everglades came running in right on top of us.
