Shimano TLD30 - 2 speed, very impressed with 30# Momoi Illusion mono. When we finally saw after 1:45 minutes that we had a large shark, the drag was buried to full the last 15 minutes. That mono went in and out of those guides 50 times with max. drag and never failed. The specs on the abrasion resistance seem to be right on cause that 30# was singing through the rod.

Conngrats to your son ,, I was always wondering about the TLD`s look`s like it does the job ... what lbs was the leader ...? for sails I use 50lb ... is that what the sword was caught on ?

Default Wow, there goes another daytime sword.

Ya Mon:

A great way to take your boy fishing, and he got to do the hard part. Or was it you that had to haul in the Hammerhead?

I guess you just can't shake those swords away with a stick when you have live tinkers out in the spread.

If you keep catching those decent size swords with those TLD 30s, Capt. Mitch is going to be getting very jealous.

Vincent Jr released 2 of the sails, the T-Head and the sword. His grandfather released the 3rd sail.

I am only the boat handler and fish master. Only do reeling when no other hands are available.

Default Family fishing

Aaah fishmaster, I think I could like that job.

Way to go fishing with the family. Salud, los Vincencios.

P.S. - Have you tried the chef Paul's Blackened Redfish magic yet, for the swordfish Bbq recipe? If not time's a wastin.

"Blackened Redfish Magic".
I second that motion. The Seafood Magic is really good also.

I'm about 5 years ahead of ya on Chef Paul.

Kikoman Toasted Sesame Marinade blended with a little sesame oil, marinate sword steaks for 10 minutes and baste while BBQing. Of all the secrets about fish I can offer, thats the most valuable.

BroadBill Pro,

How long can you pen up those tinkers?
And did you see any tinkers on your last trip out?

Thanks,
Snookuda

Not sure, put 2.5 doz in the well 11 days ago after a night trip and they are still swimming and loving life. Fed them twice so far. They are bunking with gogs at the moment.

My boat is very close to the inlet, normally a few days and they give up. First time I have penned tinkers at this dock.
